Lavender Mocktails are all the Rave
The Lavender Trend: Why It’s Everywhere Right Now
If you’ve been to a coffee shop in the past two years, you’ve seen it: lavender lattes, lavender lemonades, lavender matcha, lavender cold brew, lavender mocktails, and yes — lavender tea. This beautiful purple herb has officially gone from niche to mainstream, and the trend shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
So why is lavender taking over our drinks menus? A few reasons:
1. Wellness Wave
As more people lean into mindful living, herbal adaptogens and botanicals have surged in popularity. Lavender sits perfectly at the intersection of beauty, flavour, and function — it tastes wonderful AND it genuinely supports calm and stress relief. That’s a winning combination in today’s wellness culture.
2. It’s Incredibly Photogenic
Let’s be honest — lavender is gorgeous. Its soft purple hues photograph beautifully, making lavender drinks an absolute staple on Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok. The #lavanderlatte alone has millions of views. Pretty drinks get shared, and shared drinks become trends.
3. The ‘Cozy & Calm’ Aesthetic Is Having a Moment
We are collectively craving softness, slowness, and simple pleasures. Lavender fits that energy perfectly. It’s become a symbol of self-care and intentional living — the kind of thing you reach for when you want to signal to yourself that you’re taking a moment just for you.
4. Baristas & Brands Are Innovating Wildly
From Starbucks’ seasonal lavender offerings to independent tea brands crafting gorgeous floral blends (hi, Blossom & Brew!), the beverage industry has fully embraced lavender. This has normalised the flavour for mainstream consumers and opened the door for everyday home sippers to explore it too.
5. It Pairs Beautifully With Almost Everything
Lavender is a surprisingly versatile flavour. It plays well with citrus (hello, bergamot!), vanilla, honey, oat milk, lemon, and even chocolate. Its adaptability means it can show up in morning lattes, afternoon teas, evening mocktails, and weekend baking — which keeps it feeling fresh and exciting across all occasions.
Lavender in Lattes, Teas & Drinks: The Trend Breakdown
In case you want to fully lean into the lavender lifestyle (and we think you should), here’s a quick guide to how lavender is showing up in drinks right now:
Lavender Lattes
The breakout star of the trend. Steamed oat milk, a shot of espresso or strong black tea, and a house-made lavender syrup. Dreamy, purple, and utterly delicious. You can recreate this at home using your Earl of Lavender tea as the base instead of espresso for a totally caffeine-controlled version.
Lavender Black Tea
Exactly what we’re celebrating this month! Brewed hot for a warming floral cup, or iced over lots of ice with a drizzle of honey for a refreshing summer drink. Both are absolutely stunning.
Lavender Lemonade
A lavender simple syrup stirred into fresh lemonade creates one of the most refreshing summer drinks imaginable. Cold brew your Earl of Lavender tea, add lemon juice and a little honey, and you have something that belongs on a rooftop terrace.
Lavender Matcha Latte
The aesthetics on this one are simply unmatched — layers of bright green and soft purple. A lavender syrup swirled into a frothy matcha latte has become one of the most-shared drinks on social media.
Lavender Mocktails & Cocktails
Lavender syrup or lavender-infused spirits paired with sparkling water, elderflower tonic, gin, or prosecco creates elegant, florally gorgeous drinks perfect for entertaining. The colour alone makes them conversation starters.
Lavender Hot Chocolate
A pinch of culinary lavender in a rich hot chocolate is a surprisingly magical combination — the floral note cuts through the richness in the most beautiful way.
Try It Yourself: Iced Earl of Lavender Latte
Ready to get in on the lavender drink trend from the comfort of your own kitchen? Here’s a simple, gorgeous recipe using your Earl of Lavender Black Tea that is genuinely as pretty as it is delicious.

Iced Earl of Lavender Latte
Ingredients:
• 2 teaspoons Earl of Lavender Black Tea (loose leaf)
• 1 cup hot water (not boiling — around 90°C / 195°F)
• 1 cup oat milk (or your preferred milk)
• 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, to taste
• A handful of ice cubes
• Optional: a small pinch of dried lavender to garnish
Instructions:
1. Steep your tea in the hot water for 3–4 minutes. Don’t over-steep or it can turn bitter!
2. Remove the tea and stir in your honey while the brew is still warm.
3. Let the tea cool for a few minutes, then pour over a tall glass packed with ice.
4. Pour your oat milk over the top — watch those gorgeous layers form!
5. Give it a gentle stir, add your lavender garnish if using, and enjoy.
